I grew up listening to stories about my grandfather’s journey from Indonesia to the Netherlands. He carried very little with him—just a small suitcase and a lifetime of memories. But as the years passed, those memories began to fade. The exact shade of the Jakarta sky, the sound of the rain on the roof, the taste of his mother’s cooking... they were slipping away.

I realized then that our history is fragile. If we don’t capture it, it disappears.
