The Story of the Summer We Built Everything

Founder note

Because your family voice
should not end with you.

Growing up in an Indo-Dutch home, the dinner table was where history stayed alive. I remember hearing my father describe childhood in the tropics with such specificity that the room changed around him. StoryBound came from the fear that these stories, the ones that shape a family without ever being formally recorded, disappear unless someone gives them a durable form.

Not content, not a novelty gift. A family story, shaped carefully enough that a child can enter it and keep returning to it.

Marvin Postma

Process

A calm, structured path from memory to edition.

The flow should feel closer to working with an editor than filling out a novelty-product form. Clear sequence. No noise. No rushing the material.

01

Record the moment that matters

A father’s workshop. The ferry crossing. The summer your grandmother refused to leave the sea. We start with the memory in its real shape, not with a template.

02

Shape it into a child-readable story

StoryBound turns detail, tone, and family context into a narrative a child can actually enter, while keeping the emotional truth intact.

03

Refine, approve, and print

You review the edition, make it right, and decide when it is ready to become a physical object worthy of the shelf.

Sample edition

The memory remains recognisable. The reading experience changes.

This is the core product proof. A spoken memory goes in. A readable object-grade story comes out, with enough shape for a child and enough truth for the family that remembers it.

Archive input

When I was 8, my friends and I built a treehouse in my backyard. We spent all summer collecting wood and nails. One day, we had a contest to see who could climb the highest. I won but got a splinter in my hand. My mom helped me get it out and made us lemonade. That treehouse became our secret headquarters where we spent countless afternoons reading comics and sharing dreams.

The Story of the Summer We Built Everything

Storybound

Edition format

Object-first cover, warmer tone, calmer composition.

When I was eight, the corner of our backyard became the most important place in the world. My friends and I dragged old boards across the grass, balanced nails in our palms, and argued about where the ladder should go. By the end of the week the treehouse leaned a little to one side, but to us it looked like a castle. Every afternoon we added something new. A plank for a seat. A biscuit tin for treasure. A rule that only members were allowed inside. We read comics there, planned impossible adventures, and looked d…

What changed

Voice shaped for a child, structure clarified, emotional truth preserved.

What stayed

The workshop, the summer, the pride of having built something together.

Transform your memoryDraft, revise, print

A family memory deserves
a form sturdy enough to outlast the telling.

The goal is not nostalgia for its own sake. It is to give a child something they can return to, understand, and keep after the person who told the story has left the room.

01

History, not trivia

We preserve the atmosphere around the event, the smells, rooms, habits, and small details that make a story feel inherited rather than summarized.

02

A bridge that a child can cross

The final book has to be legible to a child without flattening the life that produced it. That tension is the product, not a side effect.

03

Built to survive convenience

A real edition beats the fate of most family media. It can be gifted, shelved, revisited, and still matter once the screen is gone.

Choose the form your
family history should take.

Digital gets you into the archive immediately. Physical editions are for gifting, shelving, and rereading until the object becomes part of the family itself.
